Research Interests
My research focuses on the ecology of terrestrial, mainly forest, plants — the diversity, distribution, life-history, and interactions with abiotic environment and associated orgainsms such as pollinators and mycorrhizal fungi. I am interested in utilizing molecular markers to solve ecological questions as well as bottom-up approaches that consider population-level processes to explain community- or ecosystem-level phenomena. My past research includes the dynamics of plant populations and communities in terms of their responses to natural or human-induced changes in environment; the consequences of plant genetic diversity for ecosystem functioning; and the ecology and evolution of life-history strategies under heterogeneous and changing environment. For more details please look through some of my publications.
Key words — Plant ecology, forest plants, population dynamics, genetic markers, clonality
